August Seasonal Update

Aug 02, 2024

I think we can all agree that this winter has been gorgeous! Here's to the last month of cool weather before it begins to warm up again.

During this month, we'll see a continuation of the fruits and veggies that have been in season, with a few changes that we'll chat about below! 🌱

🍎 Fruit

Some of our winter citrus is still going strong! We've got a heap of yummy mandarins, oranges and lemons that are available. We've moved on to our mid to late season varieties of Mandarins, our current being the Avana which will soon swap over to the tasty Honey Murcott variety.

Papaya and bananas are still in good supply, and we've been going through a few yummy varieties of red apples, so we hope you've been enjoying those! We'd encourage getting your hands on some of our delicious Williams Bon Cretien pears, as they are just amazing right now!

The blood orange season has now finished up & limes are very difficult to source at the moment as the current weather is really affecting lime growers negatively. Most, if not all, have lost the majority of their fruit; however we're crossing our fingers that we'll see a return of these limes next month.

The first watermelons of the season are starting to become available so get excited! They're arriving from up north, where the weather is warmer. This means super sweet and tasty watermelons!

🥦 Veggies

Gorgeous broccoli, cauliflower and cabbages will continue to stick around as the cooler weather continues. Our cauliflowers are becoming more uniform in size and broccoli quality is just perfect right now.

Green beansgolden sweet potatoes, zucchini and cucumber are still nice and abundant.

Beautiful golden beetroot is now available however keep in mind that the season is short so you'll need to get in quick before they're gone!

As the dry and sunny weather continues, you'll see a decrease in price for our tasty gourmet and roma tomatoes as these beauties ripen fast! Red capsicum may also be coming down in price!

It is looking like our garlic will have a dip in availability for a period of time as we go from one growing season to the next.

Herbs and leafy greens such as coriander, parsley, spinach, silverbeet, kale and rocket love the cooler weather, so they'll continue to thrive this month and will be abundantly available.

Our refreshing & crunchy lettuces are being sourced locally and we've got some aromatic rosemary and thyme that are being sourced from our sister farms in Victoria as well. We hope you're loving all the gorgeous organic herbs!

As always, if you have any questions about seasonal availability simply shoot us a message or ask our team at market 😃
