December Seasonal Update

Dec 04, 2024

Summer is here!! And with all the rain we've been having plus the hot & humid days, it sure does feel like it.

All of this rain plus the expected seasonal shifts does mean that we are seeing a few changes to produce at the moment.

🍉 Fruit

Summer in Queensland is ALL about the fruit!

Here at Good Harvest, we are so excited to be in full swing with mangoes. They are beautiful, sweet and juicy this year so don't miss out!

Through the month of December, we are expecting to have both grapes and cherries too. Just in time for your Christmas celebrations!

Stone fruit is here and better than ever. We have a full stock of organic peaches, nectarines and apricots, and are hoping to get plums in shortly.

As usual, we have a beautiful steady supply of QLD bananas, papayas, and avocados. Plus some lovely apples, pears, and citrus from cooler regions.

Watermelons are still going strong as well. We will continue to have a few different varieties available, so be sure to try them all 😆.

đŸ„ŹÂ Veggies

If you haven't yet tried the asparagus this year, get in fast! The season for this popular veggie is short, and it is so tender and delicious.

Unfortunately with all of this rain, some of our broccoli suppliers have been impacted. This may mean a short break in availability, but we will do our best to source the highest quality broccoli we can.

Our favourite locally grown Noosa reds tomatoes may also be a little limited for some time. This often happens when it starts to heat up, so be sure to get your hands on them when you see them!

Local Queensland grown leafy greens are nutritious and delicious too. They have also been impacted by some of the wet weather, and some of the leaves may have small marks or spots where the grubs have gotten to them. Don't worry though, this doesn't affect the flavour or wonderful taste!

Our root veggies such as potatoes, sweet potatoes, beetroot and carrots are all beautiful and available in abundance.

Other vegetables that love the summer weather and should get better over the next few months include zucchini, red & green capsicums, eggplant, and cucumber!

We hope you enjoy the summer weather and be happy and healthy this holiday season!

As always, if you have any questions about seasonal availability simply shoot us a message or ask our team at market 😃
